# Quick start

Create an account and send your first envelope for signature in a few minutes.

## 1. Create your account

1. Go to the eSignStack sign-in page and click **Sign up**
2. Enter your details and click **Create account**, or click **Continue with Google**

Your account comes with a workspace on the Free plan. See [Plans and billing](/docs/plans-and-billing).

## 2. Add your documents

1. Open **Envelopes** and click **New envelope**
2. Drop PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or image files onto the upload area, or click it to choose files
3. Click the envelope name in the top bar to rename it

The first file creates a draft. Changes save automatically.

## 3. Add recipients

1. Click **Recipients**
2. Type each person's name or email in **Add by name or email**, or click **Add recipient**
3. Click a recipient's role to change it, for example to **Gets a copy**
4. Turn on **Sign in order** if people must act one after another

To sign the envelope yourself, click **Add me**. See [Recipients and roles](/docs/recipients-and-roles).

## 4. Place fields

1. Click **Fields**
2. Under **Placing for**, choose a recipient
3. Click **Signature**, then click the page where they should sign
4. Add any other fields they need, such as **Date signed** or **Text**

Every signer needs at least one field. See [Fields](/docs/fields).

## 5. Review and send

1. Click **Review**
2. Fix anything listed, using the button next to each problem
3. Click **Send**, or **Send and sign now** if you sign first

Your recipients get an email with their link. The envelope's status changes to **Sent**.

## 6. Track it

Open the envelope from **Envelopes** to see who has finished, send a reminder, or correct a recipient's email. When everyone is done, the status changes to **Completed** and you can download the signed PDF. See [Send and track](/docs/sending-for-signature).
